Bio
Paul Jasmin is a distinguished fashion and art photographer whose illustrious career has spanned decades and continents. Born in Helena, Montana, in 1954, Paul embarked on an extraordinary journey that would lead him from the charming landscapes of his hometown to the vibrant streets of Paris, the exotic allure of Morocco, the dynamic energy of New York, and ultimately to the enchanting world of Los Angeles, often referred to as "the city of dreams." Before embracing the lens, Paul explored various creative avenues as an illustrator, painter, and actor. It was at the encouragement of his friend, renowned photographer Bruce Weber, that he discovered his passion for photography. Paul's work captures both the real and the imagined, weaving together narratives of dreamers that exude a sensual and glamorous ideal, all while remaining firmly rooted in the nuances of reality. His editorial photography has graced the pages of esteemed publications such as Vogue, Teen Vogue, GQ, Details, V Magazine, V Man, Vogue Hommes, W, and Interview, showcasing his ability to blend artistry with contemporary culture. Paul's commercial collaborations include notable brands like Nautica, APC, Saks, and Nordstrom, further solidifying his status in the fashion industry. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Paul shares his wealth of knowledge and experience as a faculty member at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. His published works include the critically acclaimed photography books "Hollywood Cowboy" (2002) and its follow-up, "Lost Angeles" (2004). In December 2010, he released his highly anticipated third book, "California Dreaming," published by Steidl/7L, which continues to resonate with audiences and collectors alike.
