Ottilie Maters is a dynamic director and photographer, born and raised in Amsterdam, where they continue to hone their craft. As a self-taught creative, Ottilie skillfully weaves together a rich tapestry of textual, visual, and musical influences, resulting in work that resonates deeply with audiences. With a passion for exploring the unknown, Ottilie invites viewers to embark on a journey through the realms of photography, film, and multimedia. Their dedication to examining the complexities of human nature is evident in their focus on subcultures and topics often deemed taboo, aiming to foster empathy, understanding, and personal growth. Ottilie gained recognition for the poignant Nike docuseries “HOME,” produced in collaboration with WE ARE Pi. This series introduces a diverse array of athletes who have experienced displacement, highlighting how sport serves as a vital tool for community and belonging. The first episode centers on Manu, a first-generation immigrant from Romania, and Rasha, a second-generation immigrant from Palestine, both of whom are integral members of Bunktkicktgut, a grassroots football league in Berlin.
