Bio

Mike's journey to becoming a dedicated artist is as diverse as the experiences that shaped him. Before embracing his creative passion, he navigated a variety of careers—working in a law firm, managing a check printing facility, waiting tables, umpiring baseball games, and even teaching hockey lessons. A memorable highlight of his eclectic resume includes a daring rescue of a neighbor from a 14th-floor balcony, armed only with a crowbar and an unwavering determination. Recognizing that his true calling lay in the arts, Mike made a pivotal decision to enroll at Columbia College in Chicago. This transformative step led to a series of accolades, including several awards and a prestigious grant, as well as participation in a highly regarded portfolio review. With a newfound focus, he shifted away from the restaurant scene, although he still appreciates the culinary arts. Mike’s artistic vision is characterized by his exceptional ability to capture light and space, reflecting his deep appreciation for architecture and design. His work has garnered attention in esteemed publications such as *Interior Design Magazine*, *Conde Nast Traveler*, *Wallpaper*, *Elle Decor*, *Dwell*, and *Architectural Digest*. He has collaborated with notable clients, including Hilton, Allstate, GM, Sprint, and The Mies van der Rohe Society, further solidifying his place in the contemporary art scene. When he’s not behind the camera, Mike enjoys traveling, playing hockey, and exploring new culinary experiences, always on the lookout for his next favorite restaurant.
