Mike Calvino

Mike Calvino is an Australian filmmaker who travels all over the world working in exotic locations with famous people, making cool videos for cool brands. Some people say he’s “Living the Dream” PROFESSIONAL CAREER Mike Calvino works as a commercial director and cinematographer with over 20 years experience in Film & TV production having begun working as a camera operator shooting documentaries with a small production company in Sydney in early 90’s. In the early 2000’s he moved to the the Gold Coast and completed a Bachelor of Screen Production (BFTPr) at the prestigious Queensland College of Art in 2004. Since then he has worked for some of the worlds leading youth lifestyle brands, managing both creative direction for global advertising campaigns as well as managing the International Media Production department for Billabong international, overseeing all aspects of content production for global distribution across numerous platforms including television and collaborating on projects with Sony Pictures, MTV and Vice, as well as directing a number of award winning short films and advertising campaigns. His past and present client base include: Red Bull, Canon, Oakley, Panasonic, Bacardi, Moccona & Lee Jeans to name a few and recently picked up a Silver Award for Cinematography at the Brisbane Advertising and Design Awards.
