Michelle Savill

Bio

Michelle Savill is an emerging writer and director from Auckland, New Zealand. She is currently directing a block of SEX EDUCATION for Netflix.  Michelle’s first feature film MILLIE LIES LOW had its international premiere at Berlin International Film Festival 2022 and its US Premiere at SXSW Film Festival 2022. Savill’s short ELLEN IS LEAVING  won Best Narrative Short Film at SXSW Film Festival and San Francisco Film Festival. Savill’s short films have screened at Rotterdam, Sydney, Edinburgh and Melbourne, where she attended the MIFF Accelerator Programme. She has attended the Berlinale Talent Lab and won a scripted development internship at Killer Films in New York through Script-to-Screen. Her films have been showcased on Vice Media, Short of the Week and Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere. Michelle has a passion for telling visceral, humane stories that focus on character and the human condition.
