Michal Chelbin is a distinguished photographer whose evocative work has captivated audiences across the globe through a multitude of solo and group exhibitions. Her striking imagery is housed in esteemed public and private collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, LACMA, the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Jewish Museum in New York, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Tel Aviv Museum, the Sir Elton John Collection, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others. Chelbin's critically acclaimed monograph, *Strangely Familiar: Acrobats, Athletes and Other Traveling Troupes*, published by Aperture in 2008, garnered the prestigious PDN Photo Annual Book Award in 2009, solidifying her reputation in the contemporary art scene. Following this success, her next monograph, *The Black Eye*, was released in June 2010 by Twin Palms Publishers, coinciding with solo exhibitions at Andrea Meislin Gallery in New York and M+B Gallery in Los Angeles in October of the same year. In 2012, Chelbin continued to enchant viewers with her third monograph, *Sailboats and Swans*, again published by Twin Palms Publishers, which was accompanied by a solo exhibition at Andrea Meislin Gallery in New York.
