Bio

Meiko, a talented photographer with roots in Tokyo, embarked on a transformative journey at the age of sixteen when she moved to the United States, fueled by a secret ambition to become a writer and a desire to effect change in the world. Her childhood, marked by countless hours immersed in Nintendo games, left her with a unique perspective—and a pronounced nearsightedness that deepened her appreciation for visual storytelling. During her college years, while pursuing a degree in Sociology, Meiko discovered her true passion for photography. She found that capturing moments through her lens came more naturally to her than mastering the intricacies of English writing. This revelation set her on a path of creative exploration, allowing her to cultivate a distinct style that resonates with authenticity and emotion. Over the years, Meiko has built an impressive portfolio, collaborating with esteemed clients such as Lowe's, Reebok, Target, Mattel, Disney, Chobani, Sparkling Ice, Walmart, Sephora, Nestlé, Paul Frank, VANS, Headspace, Pepsi, Mars Wrigley, and Zappos. Her work has also graced the pages of prominent publications, including Real Simple, Wired, Fortune, Fast Company, Bon Appétit, The Guardian, Los Angeles Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Flaunt, Bust, and Chronicle Books. Now a dedicated mother, Meiko embodies the spirit of a fierce team player, embracing challenges with enthusiasm and resilience. Despite her busy schedule, she finds fulfillment in knowing that her photographs bring joy to others, affirming her commitment to her craft and her belief in the power of visual art to connect and inspire.
