Marco Grob, born in the picturesque town of Olten, Switzerland, embarked on his artistic journey as a photographer's assistant in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. After honing his skills in the bustling environment of the film industry, he returned to Switzerland, where he established his first studio and dedicated two decades to mastering the art of still life photography. In 2003, fueled by a desire for creative evolution, Marco transitioned to portrait and people photography, a shift that would define his career. Relocating to the dynamic cultural landscape of New York, he quickly became a sought-after photographer, capturing the essence of Hollywood's elite. His impressive portfolio includes iconic actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges, Colin Firth, Robert Downey Jr., Carey Mulligan, Uma Thurman, and Julianne Moore. Additionally, he has collaborated with musical legends like Sir Elton John, Lady Gaga, Sting, and Justin Bieber, as well as influential political figures, including Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Joe Biden. Marco's commercial endeavors have seen him partner with major players in the film industry, including Walt Disney Studios, Warner Brothers, Marvel, Netflix, and HBO. His remarkable contributions to film marketing include notable work on movie posters for blockbusters such as the "Avengers" series and Disney's "TRON: Legacy." His advertising campaigns have also featured prestigious brands like Rolex, IWC, Tag Heuer, BBC, and Louis Vuitton. His striking imagery frequently graces the pages of esteemed publications such as TIME, GQ, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and The New York Times Magazine. In 2011, TIME commissioned Marco to create a poignant series of portraits titled “BEYOND 9/11: Portraits of Resilience,” commemorating the resilience of individuals affected by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This award-winning collection is now part of the permanent collections at both the Smithsonian Museum and the National 9/11 Memorial. Marco's artistic excellence has garnered numerous accolades, including an Emmy Award for “BEYOND 9/11,” as well as honors from the International ADC, Cannes, and the New York Festival Awards, among others. Notably, he received the prestigious Hasselblad Master title in 2007. Since 2010, Marco has dedicated his talents to the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), using his photography to raise awareness about the global impact of landmines, which continue to inflict suffering across the world. Currently residing in New York, Marco Grob continues to travel the globe, capturing powerful stories through his lens and leaving an indelible mark on the world of photography.
