Growing up as a queer individual in a small Southern town, Mae learned to navigate the complexities of identity and self-discovery, which ignited her fearlessness in exploring unconventional narratives that challenge societal norms. Her artistic focus centers on the intricate lives of multifaceted characters, particularly women engaged in transformative journeys of self-liberation. Mae's films, which she has written, directed, and edited, have garnered international acclaim, showcasing her unique voice and perspective. Her dynamic body of work has been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Gold 1.4 Award, the Silver Young Director Award, and two Red Dot Design Awards. Currently, Mae is channeling her creative energy into developing her debut feature film, "December," promising to further illuminate her passion for authentic storytelling and the exploration of the human condition.
