Born in 1990 in the vibrant city of Paris, Lou's artistic journey began at an early age, inspired by his father's passion for photography. By the time he turned 15, his camera had become an inseparable companion, capturing the world through his unique lens. Lou's love for art and literature is deeply intertwined, enriched by his academic background in art history. His photographic prowess was honed through invaluable mentorships with acclaimed photographers Adam Savitch and Laziz Hamani, allowing him to develop a distinctive style that resonates with both depth and emotion. In his writing, Lou masterfully blends contemporary and classical influences, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of painters and authors whose works ignite his imagination. This eclectic approach informs his creative process, resulting in a rich tapestry of artistic expression. His debut collective exhibition in 2013 at Vertbois, organized by the collective 70, showcased a compelling series of portraits and striking black-and-white landscapes, marking a significant milestone in his career. In 2014, Lou embarked on an innovative project that fused literature and visual art: the creation of intricate calligraphic drawings. By painstakingly transcribing excerpts from literary classics in fine, minuscule script, he crafts geometric forms that abstractly or figuratively embody the essence of the texts. This unique approach captured the attention of the art world, leading to a presentation at the Six Elzevir gallery, where he caught the eye of fashion icon Agnès b. This collaboration resulted in a limited-edition line of t-shirts adorned with his exquisite drawings. Currently, Lou is focused on developing a captivating gallery of artist portraits and is collaborating with esteemed brands such as Zadig et Voltaire and Longchamp. With a keen eye for beauty and a passion for storytelling, Lou continues to push the boundaries of his artistic practice, leaving an indelible mark on the contemporary art scene.
