Born in the picturesque landscapes of Austria, just south of Vienna, Lorenz's artistic journey began in the enchanting city of Innsbruck, nestled in the heart of the Alps. It was here that he first encountered the transformative power of photography through his mother’s vintage 35mm Contax rangefinder, a gem from the early 1950s. Captivated by its elegant mechanics and the ability to capture evocative moments, Lorenz quickly developed a profound passion for the art form. At the age of 23, driven by his ambition to elevate his craft, he relocated to London, where he immersed himself in the vibrant photography scene. Over six years, he honed his skills by assisting some of the most esteemed photographers in the industry, gaining invaluable insights and experience. His journey then took him to New York, where he secured a full-time assisting position, further solidifying his place in the competitive world of photography. Now an accomplished independent photographer, Lorenz has collaborated with a diverse range of prestigious clients, including Calvin Klein, DVF, Vera Wang, GAP, and Levi’s, among others. His work has graced the pages of renowned publications such as Vogue, Allure, and V Magazine, showcasing his distinctive vision and artistry. Today, Lorenz resides and works in New York, where he continues to explore the limitless possibilities of photography, capturing compelling narratives through his lens.
