At the intersection of flesh and animation, and where performance intertwines with the virtual, Kordae’s oeuvre offers a profound techno-ontological exploration of Blackness in the 21st century. His radical reimagining of cinema serves as a foundation, allowing him to weave narratives of the past into visions of the near future. Since his debut, Kordae has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, including Shabazz Palaces, Virgil Abloh, Serpentwithfeet featuring Sampha and Lil Silva, Theo Croker with Chronixx, Jamire Williams, and Matthew Jamal, further solidifying his presence in the arts community. His interdisciplinary practice, grounded in architecture, film, and worldbuilding, is complemented by his role as a lecturer at NYU and SCI-Arc. Currently, Kordae is developing an innovative new body of work titled *IF NOT NOW*. He describes this meditative Jazz interstellar performance as a narrative charter that explores the origins of a new civilization, inviting audiences to reflect on the possibilities of existence and creativity in our ever-evolving world.
