Kenta Umemoto is a Paris-based photographer whose artistic journey began at the University of Meiji, where a transformative lecture ignited his passion for the medium. His initial foray into photography involved crafting still lifes for a renowned Kimono company and Shiseido cosmetics, experiences that honed his technical skills and deepened his appreciation for aesthetics. Over time, Umemoto’s visual repertoire has expanded to encompass the realms of beauty, flora, and breathtaking landscapes, reflecting his keen eye for detail and composition. Today, he is at the forefront of innovative artistic exploration, blending the worlds of painting and photography through both digital and analog techniques. His work is distinguished by a striking use of color, drawing inspiration from the vibrant palettes of Ukiyo-e and classic Japanese comics, resulting in a captivating fusion that challenges traditional boundaries.
