Julien Herger (b. 1987, Geneva, Switzerland) is a dynamic photographer and artistic director based in Brussels, whose work uniquely straddles the realms of documentary and fashion portraiture. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling, Herger's imagery resonates with a nostalgic charm, beautifully intertwining the aesthetics of past and present while celebrating the rich tapestry of popular culture and diversity. Herger's artistic journey began at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD), where he studied fashion design before embarking on an eclectic career path that eventually led him to Canada in 2018 to pursue photography. His transition into the medium was swift; he quickly established himself as a r, collaborating with notable brands across the fashion, cosmetics, and food industries. In April 2021, he co-founded KH—institute, a vibrant photography studio and creative label based in Montreal, which aims to foster inclusivity and community through the power of creativity. That same year, Herger's talent was recognized with the prestigious Sony Award for Emerging Photographer of 2021-2022 for his evocative series "Pariah," underscoring his significant impact on contemporary photography.
