Bio
Joseph Schiano di Lombo is an artist of exceptional versatility, blending his classical piano training with a distinguished education from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. His multifaceted practice spans a diverse array of disciplines, including drawing, music, and writing, making him a truly unique figure in the contemporary art scene. In July 2017, Schiano di Lombo garnered high praise from the jury for his exhibition "Fugue sans sujet," showcased at the renowned École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (Printmaking Department), where he also presented his thought-provoking thesis, "Les chants légers." The following year marked a significant evolution in his artistic journey as he began crafting what he terms "sloguèmes"—an innovative blend of slogans and poetry—for the Friends of the Opéra national de Paris. He took on the role of artistic director at Coty Luxury Studio, recorded a solo piano piece at the iconic Abbey Road Studios for a fragrance campaign, and displayed his unique "Hairku" haikus in a hair salon, merging the realms of visual art and everyday life. Schiano di Lombo's illustrative work extends to esteemed clients such as France Culture (Les Chemins de la philosophie), Christian Dior, Aesop, Pierre Frey, and Le Fooding. In September 2019, he unveiled his third solo exhibition, "Mysique pour Arp," at Galerie! (David Giroire) in the Palais-Royal. This exhibition featured a collaboration with renowned perfumer Barnabé Fillion and included a musical performance with harpist Anaïs Gaudemard, a distinguished prizewinner of the Israel International Harp Competition. On February 14, 2020, Schiano di Lombo released his captivating piano variations on Jennifer Lopez's hit "If You Had My Love" under the Land Arts label. He has also recently performed works by Chopin and Rachmaninov in productions directed by Maxime Kurvers. Currently, he is in the process of writing his first novel in collaboration with French graphic designer Fanette Mellier, promising to further enrich his already expansive artistic repertoire.
