Jim Tsinganos is a multi award winning Sydney based illustrator/art practitioner with over 25 years experience. He received a bachelor of design specialising in illustration from The South Australian College of Art and Education, now UniSa and worked for most of his early career using traditional techniques such as pastels and watercolour before transitioning to digital media. His illustrations have been featured in most of the international illustration awards publications and he has been in countless exhibitions, both locally and internationally, as a solo exhibitor and as part of group shows. He has been featured and interviewed by publications that include, Qantas inflight magazine, Creative Magazine, 3x3 Spotlight, DPI Magazine Taiwan and Art Market Magazine. Throughout his career he has been commissioned by a varied selection of clients that have seen his work used as postage stamps for Australia Post, airline posters for Qantas, a series of posters for Opera Australia and a limited edition commemorative coin for the Australian Mint. In 2019 he was part of an international jury judging a children's book illustration exhibition at the Sharjah International Children's Book Fair and more recently he was accepted as an exhibitor at the 2021 Florence Biennale, taking out first prize in the Art section of the Open Call International Art Competition as a result. "I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is of my dad sitting me down before our house guests and having me draw them. He was my first art director and that was my first assignment."
