Renowned portrait photographer Jay Brooks began his artistic journey at Wimbledon School of Art, where he studied Film & TV Set Design. It was, however, a transformative road trip across America in the mid-90s that ignited his passion for photography and set him on a path of creative exploration. Jay’s background in theatre has profoundly shaped his photographic approach, infusing his work with a distinctive flair for location, meticulous attention to detail, and a penchant for storyboarding. His portraits often unfold within meticulously crafted environments, where an undercurrent of dark humor adds depth and intrigue. With a graphic, cinematic style and masterful atmospheric lighting, Jay has become a sought-after talent in the realms of film, television, and theatre. His striking imagery has served prominent clients, including Netflix, , Sky, HBO, Discovery, and the BBC, where his work has become synonymous with captivating promotional content.
