Born in a refugee camp in Malaysia after his parents fled Vietnam's post-war turmoil by sea, Hai's life story is a testament to resilience and transformation. Now based in the vibrant cultural landscape of New York, he merges his diverse experiences to create art that resonates on multiple levels. With a formal education in photography from Parsons Paris and a background in philosophy from Carleton College, Hai delves into the delicate interplay between beauty and meaning through his work.
