Fred Meylan
Bio
Fred Meylan's journey in the world of photography began with his military service, where he honed his skills as a photographer. Following this foundational experience, he joined the renowned Sygma Agency as a reporter, where he further developed his artistic vision. Meylan soon gravitated toward portraiture, capturing the essence of iconic figures such as Monica Bellucci, Uma Thurman, and Pénélope Cruz. His eye for detail and composition led him into the realm of fashion photography, where he collaborated with prestigious French, Italian, and American department stores, while simultaneously directing music videos and commercials that showcased his diverse talents. In 2000, Meylan embarked on a deeply personal project that explored the deformations of the human body, culminating in exhibitions at the Galerie Laurent Strouk in Paris in 2001 and again in 2006, as well as at the Opera Gallery in New York. His work has garnered acclaim within the fashion industry for its breathtaking lifestyle imagery, with a particular focus on celebrating the beauty of women in authentic, fleeting moments. Over the years, Meylan has partnered with a myriad of global brands across various sectors, including Cartier, Clarins, Ba&sh, Lancaster, Bucherer, Nike, Lacoste, Eric Bompard, Pablo, Galeries Lafayette, Ofée, Majestic Filatures, and Peugeot. Notably, he has played an instrumental role in shaping the visual identity of Zadig & Voltaire, leading all global campaigns since the brand's inception. Meylan operates from his private studio located on rue Saint-Honoré in the heart of Paris' 1st arrondissement, where he continues to create evocative imagery that resonates with audiences around the world.
