Born in 1993, Fethi Sahraoui is a distinguished Algerian documentary photographer and a proud Magnum Foundation Fellow, renowned for his insightful exploration of the social landscape. His academic journey began at the University of Mascara, where he pursued foreign languages, culminating in his graduation in 2018. His final project, which delved into the vital contributions of Black American photographers during the Civil Rights Movement, highlighted his dedication to understanding the intersection of culture and history through the lens of photography. Fethi's compelling work has been exhibited in esteemed institutions, including the Arab World Institute, and has captured the attention of various media outlets, such as The New York Times, establishing him as a significant voice in contemporary photography. As a member of the 220Collective, a collaborative group of five photographers spread across Algeria, Fethi engages in diverse projects that foster a sense of community and shared vision. Through his lens, Fethi Sahraoui continues to illuminate the complexities of social narratives, making a profound impact on the art of documentary photography.
