Bio

Eric Guillemain is a distinguished French portrait photographer whose compelling work captures the essence of his subjects with remarkable intimacy. Born in Morocco and raised in the vibrant cultural hub of Paris, Eric's artistic journey began in the realm of music as the frontman of the rock band Venice. In 2002, he relocated to New York, where he had the unique opportunity to assist the legendary photographer Peter Lindbergh. This experience not only honed his skills but also allowed him to document behind-the-scenes moments on Lindbergh's iconic shoots and various film sets. In 2009, Eric embarked on his own photography career, quickly establishing a reputation for his striking imagery across both advertising and editorial platforms. He has collaborated with an impressive roster of international clients and has photographed a plethora of celebrities, including Vanessa Paradis, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlize Theron, Johnny Depp, Shailene Woodley, Jessica Alba, and many more, each portrait reflecting his distinctive artistic vision. Eric's work has been showcased in notable exhibitions, including "Crosses" at 23 Pine Gallery in 2020 and "MOVIE SETS" at the same venue in 2021. His artistic philosophy is succinctly encapsulated by his own words: "I never stopped singing; I just decided to make photos instead of songs... for now." Characterized by a stripped-down aesthetic and an unfiltered emotional connect, Eric Guillemain's photography transcends conventional portraiture, offering viewers a direct line to the human experience. Currently based in New York, Eric continues to travel the globe, bringing his unique perspective to his work and engaging with diverse cultures along the way.
