Bio

Eddy Chen, a talented photographer with roots in Taiwan and a vibrant upbringing in sunny Los Angeles, discovered his passion for photography at the tender age of nine when his father gifted him his first camera. Captivated by the world around him, Eddy immersed himself in capturing every moment, developing an early obsession that led him to print his own photographs during a time when that process was still cherished. As he navigated his artistic journey, Eddy faced a pivotal moment when he expressed his desire to pursue photography professionally, prompting his father's bewildered question, "Why!?" This moment of confusion only fueled Eddy's determination to explore the storytelling potential of images. For over a decade, Eddy has carved a niche for himself within the film and television industry, where his keen eye and artistic vision have brought to life moments that resonate deeply with audiences around the globe. His work ranges from striking portraits to dynamic behind-the-scenes shots, reflecting his passion for visual storytelling. Recently, he showcased his talent at the prestigious Leica Gallery in Los Angeles with an exhibition titled “Idol Moments,” featuring captivating imagery from HBO’s acclaimed series, The Idol. Eddy is proud to be a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, Local 600, and he currently resides in Los Angeles with his loving wife and their two beloved dogs. Excitingly, they are expecting their first child, a daughter, later this summer, and Eddy has already begun preparing for her future by thoughtfully wrapping cameras as birthday gifts for her special milestones.
