Dennis Golonka
Bio
Dennis Golonka is a distinguished photographer, director, and the visionary of UTP magazine. Hailing from New Jersey and raised in Maryland, Dennis's fascination with photography ignited in the basement darkroom crafted by his parents during his childhood. It was in that intimate, shadowy space that he first explored the magic of the medium, spending countless hours honing his skills and nurturing his artistic vision. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Dennis moved to New York to pursue a Master's degree. However, his passion for photography proved irresistible, leading him to make the bold decision to leave academia behind. He began his journey in the industry by assisting various photographers while studying at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). His talent quickly shone through, and upon graduation, he secured a coveted position in the Art Department at Harper's Bazaar under the legendary Fabien Baron, where he excelled as both a photo editor and a featured photographer. In pursuit of his artistic aspirations, Dennis transitioned to photography, fully dedicating himself to his craft. Today, he divides his time between Brooklyn and Upstate New York, where he lives with his husband and a delightful menagerie of pets. Dennis's impressive portfolio includes collaborations with renowned clients such as Harper's Bazaar, Metal Magazine, Marie Claire, Interview Magazine, Ubikwist, Paper Magazine, Anthropologie, Eileen Fisher, Kate Spade, Anne Taylor, Badgley Mischka, Neiman Marcus, Calvin Klein, and Pink, showcasing his versatile talent and creative vision.
