Bio
Daisy Walker, a talented Photographer and Art Director, was born on the outskirts of London and has cultivated a diverse artistic journey that spans continents. After studying French and Spanish at university, she ventured to Paris and then to Chile, before returning to her roots in London, where she currently resides. As an Art Director, Walker draws inspiration from timeless design and evocative imagery to craft sensitive and unique brand identities. Her impressive client roster includes renowned names such as Isabel Bonner, Studio Dévé, Primark, Maje, and JW Anderson, reflecting her ability to merge creativity with commercial vision. In her capacity as a Photographer, Walker has collaborated with prestigious brands including Burberry, Cos, Farfetch, Loewe, Maison Margiela, H&M, and Victoria Beckham. Her artistic direction has also extended to film, where she has helmed projects for iconic fashion houses such as Maison Margiela, Vivienne Westwood, Maje, and Stella McCartney. Central to Walker's work are powerful themes exploring the human body and its intricate relationship with the natural world. A passionate environmentalist, her upbringing in the countryside fostered a deep love for nature and horses. This connection not only inspired her creative pursuits but also led her to compete at a national level in showjumping, further solidifying her bond with the environment that permeates her art. An intimate and compassionate focus on the female form and experience is a hallmark of Walker's photography, both personal and commercial. As a survivor of sexual abuse, she transformed her trauma into a resilient exploration of her identity through the medium of nude self-portraiture. In 2018, she launched ‘Solace’, a poignant series of nudes published as postcards to benefit Solace Women’s Aid, a charity dedicated to supporting survivors of rape and domestic violence. This impactful project garnered attention from notable publications such as i-D, Dazed & Confused, and Twin Magazine. In 2020, during the isolation of the pandemic, she created a series of self-nudes for Stella McCartney, further showcasing her ability to find beauty and strength in vulnerability. Walker is also the of the non-profit Women in Fashion, which was recognized in the Dazed 100 and featured in British Vogue. This initiative provided a vital safe space for individuals in the challenging fashion industry to come together, share their experiences, and for change. Although Women in Fashion closed its doors in 2020, Walker remains a steadfast for women in the industry, tirelessly working to challenge systems of inequality and empower marginalized voices. With her unique blend of artistic vision and resilience, Daisy Walker continues to inspire and provoke thought through her photography and advocacy, leaving an indelible mark on both the art world and the communities she serves.
