Bio

Clémence Trossevin established her artistic journey in Paris in 2011, where she pursued her studies in art history and archaeology at the prestigious École du Louvre. Specializing in the Arts of the Far East, she cultivated a profound appreciation for the intricate motifs found on Chinese ceramics and silks. This exploration ignited her fascination with the interplay of color, form, and the delicate balance between minimalism and ornate decoration. Clémence's artistic practice encompasses both gouache painting and digital tablet work, characterized by her signature style of graceful lines, a vibrant color palette, and a masterful manipulation of light and shadow. Her influences are diverse yet harmonious, drawing inspiration from the early 20th-century Japanese Shin-Hanga movement, known for its perfect equilibrium between line and color, as well as from Hergé’s clear line style, which embraces simplicity and flat color. When Clémence paints, she taps into a wellspring of memories, evoking scents, sensations, and vivid narratives that capture fleeting moments. "I believe painting allows me to conjure moments of happiness," she reflects. "The time spent contemplating a composition, selecting colors, and the very act of painting enables me to relive the essence of the moment depicted." Through her art, Clémence invites viewers to experience the beauty and depth of her personal reflections, transforming them into universal expressions of joy and nostalgia.
