Born in Miami and now based in Los Angeles, Carlos Serrao discovered his passion for photography while immersing himself in the vibrant skateboard culture of Florida. This early exploration not only honed his skills but also earned him local acclaim as a visual storyteller, prompting his move to Los Angeles to fully embrace photography as his career. In LA, Carlos quickly gained recognition for his distinctive style and innovative approach to sports imagery and portraiture, captivating the attention of art directors and editors across the industry. His breakthrough moment came in 2004 when he was selected to spearhead the Nike Speed Campaign for the Athens Olympics. This ambitious project featured striking portraits of 37 elite athletes from around the globe, culminating in the acclaimed publication *The Beauty of Speed*. Over the past 14 years, Carlos has solidified his status as one of the most respected photographers on the international stage. His portfolio boasts an impressive roster of iconic figures, including Jack Nicholson, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, and the Williams sisters, Serena and Venus, as well as Roger Federer and Cristiano Ronaldo. Carlos’s work extends beyond personal projects; he collaborates with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Nike, Adidas, Timberland, Spyder, Guinness, Puma, Reebok, Converse, Visa, Berghaus, Sony, and MasterCard, producing both stills and dynamic campaigns that resonate with audiences globally. When not on assignment, Carlos divides his time between , Los Angeles, and New York, continually seeking fresh inspiration and new artistic challenges.
