Candice Roger
Bio
Candice Roger is a dynamic 33-year-old self-taught artist hailing from Angers, Paris. After immersing herself in the art market during her studies in Bordeaux, she made the bold decision to pivot from theory to practice, channeling her passion into her creative work. Drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of comic strips, horror films, and surrealism, Candice crafts scenes that blend absurdity and imagination, inviting viewers to explore the narratives woven into her illustrations. With a minimalist palette dominated by a black pencil and subtle bursts of color, she masterfully conveys stories and contemplative thoughts, often laced with a distinctive black humor and cynicism that resonate throughout her oeuvre. Candice made her debut as an exhibiting artist in 2014 at Galerie En Face in Angers, and since then, she has cultivated a vibrant artistic presence, showcasing her work in numerous exhibitions across Angers, Nantes, and Paris. In addition to her personal projects, she collaborates with renowned publications such as Science et Vie Junior, Usbek & Rica, and Revue XXI as an illustrator. For the past five years, she has also been a vital part of the Fishbrain silkscreen workshop in Angers, where she continues to develop her artistic practice in a collaborative studio environment.
