As a kid, Benn Jae used to wear a skirt and dance in front of the television to Johnny Young Talent Time, wishing he was Dannii Minogue. A failed child performer, he was inspired to start collecting the most brilliant creative minds. Jae's career began when he stepped into the fashion industry, session styling for celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan, Paula Abdul, M.I.A, Helena Christensen, Cyndi Lauper and Dannii Minogue (ironically). Working under world-renowned photographers David LaChapelle and Patrick Demarchelier, Jae was inspired to explore photography. Over ten years later, Jae has had many commercial successes shooting campaigns for advertising greats, including DDB, Clemenger BBDO, Saatchi and Saatchi, AJF Partnership, McCann and BWM. His clients include Samsung, L’Oreal, Maybelline,Target, Sony, Rodd & Gunn, Lake Wanaka Tourism, Sony and Myer. Jae’s festival debut short film ‘THE HUNTED' was selected as Best Short Film Finalist at the Academy Awards,s qualifying for Saint Kilda Film Festival 19 (Australia) and Maryland Film Festival 19 (US). Jae was awarded Best Director at the New Vision Film Festival 19 (Netherlands) and Around International Film Festival 19 (Paris, France and Berlin, Germany). The film also recently selected for Chelsea Film Festival 19 (NYC, US), Lift-Off 20 (Los Angeles, US), and Hollywood Horror Festival 19 (Los Angeles, US). His feature film ‘PHEONIX’ is in the final stages of development with FireFly Films.
