Bio

Ben Rayner is a London-born photographer whose artistic journey began at the youthful age of 19, capturing the vibrancy of artists and musicians for renowned publications such as Dazed & Confused and VICE. Over the years, Ben has expanded his creative repertoire to encompass fashion, portraiture, and lifestyle photography, producing striking visuals that have graced the pages of prestigious magazines including Vogue, Nylon, and Wonderland. Renowned for his deep connection with his subjects, Ben has a unique ability to create authentic and intimate imagery. His impressive portfolio includes captivating portraits of luminaries such as Felicity Jones, ASAP Rocky, Bella Hadid, Greta Gerwig, Lil Wayne, MGMT, Haim, Russell Brand, Mia Goth, and Alexa Chung. Ben articulates his artistic vision, stating, “In an ideal world, my work is almost a photo diary of a day. I strive to create an atmosphere where it feels like it’s just me and my subject—an ultimate comfort that enables genuine moments to unfold. These are the images we would create if we weren’t being commissioned by someone.” When he’s not crafting compelling narratives for Vogue Russia, The New York Times, and Wonderland, Ben collaborates with top-tier advertising clients, including Nike, Adidas, Apple, Converse, and Stussy, further showcasing his versatility and skill. In addition to his commercial work, Ben is passionate about personal projects, having published numerous zines along with three acclaimed monographs: "Power Ballads," "(UN)FAMILIAR," and "Karaoke Photographs." His artistic contributions have been exhibited across major cities, from New York and London to Tokyo and Sweden, establishing him as a prominent figure in contemporary photography. Since relocating to New York City in 2010 with his wife, Ben and their beloved cat and dog have made Manhattan their home, where he continues to explore the intersection of intimacy and artistry in his work.
