Anja is a talented Slavic illustrator based in Croatia, where she passionately crafts her art full-time. Her journey began with a degree in animation from the esteemed Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, followed by a Master’s degree in Illustration from the University of the Arts London. Anja predominantly specializes in children’s publishing and editorial work, where her imaginative approach breathes life into stories. Anja finds inspiration in whimsical narratives and enchanting characters, particularly those rooted in Slavic folklore. She delights in bringing to life vibrant plant life—both real and fantastical—as well as celestial wonders. Intriguingly, fish often find their way into her artwork, capturing her fascination for reasons she playfully keeps to herself. A voracious reader, Anja enjoys delving into both fiction and non-fiction, reflecting her insatiable curiosity about diverse subjects. Outside of her artistic endeavors, she proudly embraces her identity as a certified plant enthusiast, a badge of honor for any millennial, and incorporates her passion for fitness as a dedicated kettlebell practitioner. Anja's impressive client roster includes esteemed names such as Nosy Crow, Ladybird Books, Templar Books, HarperCollins, and the Harvard Business Review, showcasing her versatile talent and commitment to high-quality illustration.
