Anja is a talented Slavic illustrator based in Croatia, where she passionately crafts her art full-time. Her journey began with a degree in animation from the esteemed Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, followed by a Master’s degree in Illustration from the University of the Arts London. Anja predominantly specializes in children’s publishing and editorial work, where her imaginative approach breathes life into stories. Her artistic process is deeply conceptual, characterized by thorough research and a keen attention to detail. Anja finds inspiration in whimsical narratives and enchanting characters, particularly those rooted in Slavic folklore. She delights in bringing to life vibrant plant life—both real and fantastical—as well as celestial wonders. Intriguingly, fish often find their way into her artwork, capturing her fascination for reasons she playfully keeps to herself.
