Deeply influenced by his Ecuadorian grandmother, a talented designer of textiles and traditional Andean garments, he developed a passion for textiles, art, and design that would shape his future. This passion led him to the bustling streets of New York, where an internship with renowned designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh sparked his exploration of photography. Altamirano soon found his niche, capturing the essence of emerging designers within the dynamic downtown scene. Today, he seamlessly divides his time between South America and New York, while also expanding his creative horizons in .
