Andreas Laszlo Konrath is a masterful photographer whose intimate portraits beautifully encapsulate his profound love for both the art and technical intricacies of image-making, spanning the evolution from film to digital. His work, whether capturing the essence of a celebrity or the exuberance of children skateboarding, places “process” at the heart of his imagery, resulting in photographs that are both tactile and transcendent. A graduate of London Guildhall University, Andreas immersed himself in the vibrant tapestry of his surroundings, focusing on skateboarders, musicians, and the pulse of youth culture. This exploration led him to develop a signature style characterized by raw authenticity and visceral portraiture. His portfolio is a compelling showcase of iconic cultural figures, depicting them in ways that unveil their multifaceted identities. Andreas's work has garnered recognition in prestigious publications such as New York Magazine, The New Yorker, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Rolling Stone, W, and WSJ Magazine, among others. He has also collaborated with esteemed brands on advertising campaigns and special projects, including Rag & Bone, Adidas, Pierre Balmain, and Burberry. In addition to his photography, Andreas has embraced the zine format as a powerful medium for creative expression. He has edited and published zines and books for various artists, further enhancing his commitment to community engagement. Recently, he co-developed ‘shrimpzine,’ a progressive web app designed to empower users to create zines for free on their smartphones, bridging the cherished analog process with a new generation of digital creators. Currently, Andreas serves as the artist for the Dia Teens program at Dia:Beacon, where he inspires and nurtures the next wave of artistic talent.
