Alexis Pazoumian is a distinguished photographer and filmmaker whose work delves deeply into the lives of marginalized communities across the globe. With a keen eye for detail and a profound sense of empathy, Alexis explores themes of humanity, identity, and society through his compelling social and documentary photography. His artistic journey has taken him from Armenia to the United States, and more recently, to the rugged landscapes of Siberia, enriching his perspective and informing his narrative style. As the author of two critically acclaimed books published by Editions André Frère—“Faubourg Treme” (2018) and “Sacha” (2020)—Alexis has established himself as a significant voice in contemporary visual storytelling. In 2020, he was honored to receive support from Arte to direct a poignant documentary on the ongoing conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, further cementing his commitment to raising awareness about pressing social issues. In 2022, he collaborated with Canal+ to release the evocative short film “Bellus,” showcasing his ability to blend visual artistry with impactful storytelling. His work has been featured in numerous prestigious international exhibitions, and he actively collaborates with various NGOs, including Action contre la Faim and Paris Alzheimer, as well as prominent brands such as Nike, Société Générale, Uber, and Google. His photography and films have also garnered attention from major media outlets, including Vice, National Geographic, Libération, and Télérama.
