Alex F Webb
Bio
Alex F. Webb is a dynamic photographer and filmmaker hailing from London, whose work transcends traditional boundaries to explore the intricate relationship between humans and their environments. While pursuing his studies in photography at Brighton University, he co-founded Fourteen-Nineteen with Lewis Chaplin, a pioneering publishing platform dedicated to uplifting and showcasing emerging photographers. Building on his successes in photography, Alex seamlessly transitioned into filmmaking, taking on roles as Director of Photography and editor for various fashion and personal projects. This unique blend of mediums has enriched his artistic vision, allowing him to cultivate a profound appreciation for form, color, and light. He possesses an innate ability to capture the energy that exists between subjects and their surroundings, often employing a first-person storytelling approach that invites viewers into his immersive world. His compelling narrative style has led him on remarkable global journeys, where he has undertaken landmark commissions for clients such as Rapha, GQ, and Moncler. From traversing the sun-soaked expanses of the California desert to following Nepali mountaineers in the formidable Himalayas, Alex's work reflects a deep fascination with our place on the planet. In his personal projects, Alex delves into the unsettling dimensions of the British landscape and its inhabitants. Notable works like BLEU (Blind Landing Experimental Unit) and his multi-award winning short film KEITH blend elements of fact and fiction, using the concept of evidence to question our trust in societal constructs and the narratives that shape our understanding. Beyond his individual practice, Alex is an integral member of Steep Learning Group, a creative collective and studio that is redefining the presentation of the climbing and outdoor sectors. Collaborating with brands such as Gramicci, Klattermusen, Vivo Barefoot, and Chacos, he continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling in the outdoor industry.
