Description

A wide-angle landscape photograph captures a small herd of elk running across a sparse desert plain under a muted evening sky. Dark, ridged mountain ranges rise massively in the background, anchoring the composition under soft horizontal cloud bands. The terrain in the foreground and midground consists of dry scrub, low shrubs, and dusty earth kicked up lightly by the moving animals. Natural ambient light casts a warm, low-contrast glow over the scene. The image was captured by photographer Squire Fox.
