Serge Seidlitz, Illustrator, London

Description

This graphic illustration by London-based illustrator Serge Seidlitz depicts a human profile in leftward view, meticulously filled with a grid of text blocks that list the names of famous modern artists such as Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, and Pablo Picasso. The artwork uses bold black outlines and a pale blue and white colour scheme to segment the individual names across the shape of the head and neck. At the center of the head, a dark rounded shape contains the words MODERN ART against a starry field, and a single detailed eye sits within the profile. The composition is set against a plain white background with crisp vector lines and a clean editorial aesthetic.
