Description

Pope Benedict XVI steps out of a black Mercedes Benz sedan with license plate SCV 1 into a paved courtyard. Several religious figures including cardinals in red robes and priests in black cassocks stand nearby, greeting him. In the background, a multi-story brick building features arched windows where onlookers lean out to observe the arrival. Palm trees frame the scene under natural daylight, captured by photographer Christopher Pillitz.
