Pol Kurucz, Photographer, Los Angeles

Description

This striking editorial portrait by photographer Pol Kurucz features a Black woman with long pink hair seated on a stool inside a boxing ring. She wears a vibrant pink athletic top, ornate patterned shorts, heavy gold jewelry, and gold boxing gloves while resting her arms along the ring ropes. Red boots, scattered dollar bills, and a champagne bottle rest on the canvas floor below. The scene is illuminated by overhead stadium lighting, casting a theatrical glow over the ring and the shadowed audience visible in the background.
