Pieter Hugo, Photographer, Cape Town

Description

A striking street portrait captured by photographer Pieter Hugo in Cape Town, featuring a young man standing centrally on a tiled sidewalk while holding a skateboard vertically against the ground. He wears a dark quilted vest over a grey t-shirt, dark trousers, and reddish-orange sneakers, sporting dreadlocks and a direct expression. Around him, a diverse crowd of pedestrians walks along the urban thoroughfare under bright natural daylight, creating a candid and layered composition. The background reveals city architecture and street life, rendered with authentic documentary observation and a warm color palette.
