Pamela Littky, Photographer, Los Angeles

Description

This photograph by Pamela Littky captures a distinct juxtaposition between a group of people seated on a blue bench and an amusement park ride operating above them. Five women of various ages are seated side-by-side on a rustic blue bench, positioned directly in front of a weathered wooden slat fence. Above the fence line, a mechanical amusement park ride tilts at an angle, carrying a group of passengers in motion against a pale sky. The composition creates a sense of detachment, with the seated individuals resting calmly while high-energy activity takes place in the background. Natural daylight illuminates the scene, highlighting the textures of the wooden fence, the concrete ground, and the subjects' clothing.
