Description

A young African-American woman sits at a table writing a letter on a spiral notebook with an orange pen. The letter is addressed to 'Dear Mr. President.' She wears a denim shirt, has her hair in a high bun with long braids, and is wearing large hoop earrings. The dining room is lit by daylight coming through a window with sheer curtains, as well as an overhead light. She retrieves a tan box from a closet shelf filled with clothes and other items. Back in her bedroom, she sits on the bed and opens the box, looking through a collection of photographs, then begins to cry as she studies one of the photos.
