Description

An editorial portrait captured by photographer Melissa Alcena features a Black woman wearing a white patterned dress and head wrap, holding a large silver metal platter filled with food balanced atop her head. She gazes sideways with a serious expression, her hands raised to steady the tray. The background includes a tiled architectural opening and patterned wall surfaces in warm earth tones. Soft, natural lighting illuminates the scene, highlighting the detailed texture of her white embroidered garment and the metallic sheen of the serving platter.
