Martyn Thompson, Photographer, Los Angeles

Description

This interior photograph by Martyn Thompson features an ornate white neoclassical fireplace mantle set against a striking wall mural depicting soft pink clouds floating across a painterly purple sky. Flanking the fireplace are two modern wall-mounted light fixtures with translucent conical shades. A classical marble hearth frames the dark interior recess, which is filled with dark red and purple floral arrangements. In the foreground, two textured pink tufted ottomans sit alongside a low, abstractly painted side table holding a dark ceramic vessel, and various vases of blooming flowers adorn the mantelpiece.
