Kristof Luyckx, Illustrator, Paris

Description

This detailed monochrome illustration by Paris-based illustrator Kristof Luyckx depicts a group of twelve soccer players and a manager posed in a traditional team lineup. Seven players stand in the back row with arms crossed, wearing horizontal striped jerseys and dark shorts, flanked by a goalkeeper in a dark shirt and a manager wearing glasses and a long coat. Five players kneel in the front row, also wearing matching striped athletic wear, with distinct facial features and hair styles rendered in a fine ink-like stippling technique. The figures are set against a minimalist gradient background with sparse stylized trees on the right edge, conveying a nostalgic, satirical mood reminiscent of vintage sports photography.
