Katinka Herbert, Photographer, London

Description

This intimate portrait photograph by Katinka Herbert features a shirtless young man seated on a weathered wooden bed inside a distressed room with textured concrete walls. The subject wears athletic shorts, black athletic shoes with white socks, wrist tape, and a silver necklace, striking a direct pose for the camera. Flanking the bed are two small dark tables supporting table lamps with textured shades and sculptural bases. Additional details in the room include a pair of red boxing gloves resting on the bedding, a small electric fan on a side cabinet, a framed photograph, and a small crucifix mounted on the wall above the bedhead. The lighting creates warm focal points around the lamps while casting soft shadows across the rustic interior.
