Description

This floral still life photograph features an arrangement of botanical specimens isolated against a dark, near-black backdrop. A large, textured peach-and-white poppy sits prominently at the upper left, supported by a fuzzy, arched green stem. Surrounding the poppy are multiple delicate white sweet pea blossoms on slender green stems, alongside several unopened buds and fine seed heads. The composition uses dramatic, directional lighting that picks out the translucent petals and hairy textures of the stems. The moody and clinical lighting creates high contrast, emphasizing the organic shapes and varied forms of the flowers.
