Kanji Ishii, Photographer, Paris

Description

This striking photographic composition by Kanji Ishii captures a hand holding a glossy black stiletto high heel shoe amidst an explosive burst of fine yellow powder. The subject is elevated centrally against a deep, dark background that contrasts sharply with the glowing golden dust particles dispersing across the frame. The hand features polished red nails, adding a subtle splash of vibrant color near the pointed metallic toe of the shoe. The dramatic lighting illuminates the swirling particulate cloud, freezing the motion in mid-air to create a high-contrast visual effect. The vertical framing emphasizes the upward trajectory of the powder dispersion, lending a sense of kinetic energy to the still life arrangement.
