Julien James, Photographer, New York

Description

This portrait photograph by Julien James features a Black man in the foreground wearing a red long-sleeve sports jersey, dark trousers, and a patterned cap, illuminated by warm directional light. He holds his hands in a thoughtful gesture while looking off to the side. In the background on a set of stone outdoor stairs, a second Black man is seated holding a football and wearing matching athletic attire. The urban setting includes a building exterior with barred windows and textured concrete surfaces. The composition uses shallow depth of field, casting soft shadows and highlighting the rich textures of the clothing and architecture.
