John Blais, Photographer, Chicago

Description

This documentary portrait captured by photographer John Blais in Chicago presents several individuals gathered outside rustic doorways. An elderly woman in a patterned pink dress and white headwrap stands in the left doorway, while a young girl, a woman, and a boy stand near the right entrance alongside a dog. Potted plants rest on the tiled floor against cracked and colorful plaster walls adorned with painted markings. The natural lighting highlights the textured surfaces and candid expressions of the subjects.
