Gus Powell, Photographer, New York

Description

Captured on a city street in New York by photographer Gus Powell, this image shows an individual actively picking up litter from the asphalt pavement. The subject wears patterned brown and white trousers, a dark blue sweatshirt, and orange slip-on shoes, holding a long green litter picker tool with a filled white trash bag attached. A discarded pie tin with food remnants is being lifted by the claw of the tool, while a plastic lid lies on the ground nearby. The street setting features a grey metal trash can, a red mailbox, a street sign indicating a one-way street, and multi-story brick residential buildings in the background. Natural daylight illuminates the urban scene, highlighting the textures of the pavement and clothing.
